Hi there, I've been looking around teh intarwebz for the creator of Zombified World for Garry's Mod, and my sources seem to point me here.

I would very much like to get in contact with the maker of ZW in hopes that I can convince them to work on/update it some.

Easy now, Facepunch doesn't have a download link. This website does, however, but it's very old. I just hope it works.

Does he just hate it now or something? I think it would be nice if he could even just upload it for everyone to use. (The download here is broken.)

To put it simply:

Fizzadar and Winsauce Studios does not and will not continue any support of Zombiefied World or any of its previous gamemodes.

He currently lives in Canada and has no time for it anymore.  You'll have to ask somebody who has the gamemode for the code.  The only person I know who has a full working copy is Flapjack, and he won't distribute it.

....Boom?

No, but any version you do upload will not actually work, seeing as the gamemode requires a pre-created SQL database to run, and even then would require full Lua knowledge to get to a state that it would be worth playing.

Well, I'll give it a shot none the less. I just uploaded it here, so if anyone wants to download, it's all theirs.

Actually, I've been working on it quite a bit, and so far I have the admin panel working, as well as most of the actual gamemode. I think I'll make a new thread about this.

If you get it working.  Fizz spent the better part of a year getting it to a working state and he codes for a living.

I actually think I'm nearly finished. All that I really need to do is add some useful stuff (like horde timer,) then create a tutorial on how to get this working. I also need to understand how to set allowed commands for FizzMin... lacking documentation...

So you can honestly say that the full stats system, items, map changes, night vision are all working?  If so then good for you, now you can fix the obscene number of bugs/problems in the gamemode.

1. Animations not working for zombies
2. Guns not working right (recoil, PvP balance issues)
3. +reload shot guns
4. Vendor ammo issues
5. Finding a level designer as talented as myself (in the gmod community, lolkay) to fix the issues of camp spots, pathing, and the little fact that nearly every single map ZW used looked like shit that was placed into a microwave for an hour then eaten by a dog, shit out again, eaten by a fat chick, shit out again and then used as lube in her vag.

Then expanding the game mode, what happens @ max level is something me and fizz talked about for hours on end with no results, so please tell me because I'm honestly wondering here how are you going to fix these issues that made the game modes creators stop dev. on it?  Sorry to sound so down on this but there are massive issues with it that need to be addressed before it can go back on public servers IMO.

And before anyone asks, the reason no ZW spec. maps were ever released is because of side projects raping my time or the fact that Garry liked to rape any map I made, esp. the wonderful map I had 90% finished but could never balance and release because gmod won't let me use extra water shaders, you know, the ones that valve included in other OB engine games?

There is next to no point in even working on ZW if it will remain in Gmod, hell take it out of source if you want to truly be considered fun.  The engine, even if worked on in a major mod (fuck even the source code wouldn't do much good.) it would most likely fail hard because Source has so many limitations on the possible world to be rendered at once.  That and fizz moving away was one of the reasons PARP never got on track, even at max hammer size the world was not large enough to showcase the game mode.  Triple, fuck preferably 10x the max hammer size would have been closer to correct for PARP.

Now I'm just ranting about WSSs failures so I'll stop, go ahead, make all the same mistakes we did and become miserable with gmod and source like everyone else who actual understand the engine.

I'm miserable as it is about the source engine, (and Valve's dedication to only a select part of the community,) but that dislike came from the fact that they had an awesome demo editor in TF2 Beta but took it out, only to leave us with their broken demo editor.

ANYhow, I'll see how far I can get. I'll put it on google code at the least once I think I'm done with the initial upbringing.

P.S. Realized that some sounds are missing, does anyone happen to have any? These sounds are in the folder /npc/l4d_zombies/*

EDIT: Oh, well I guess I can't ask that, since I promised not to ask for support. Well, I guess all zombies will have to use the default included zombie sounds.

Eh don't worry about asking, never hurts, just use the L4D updated GCFScape and get the missing files from L4D (assuming you own it)

I'm pretty sure I asked him at one point, he was either one of the people who said they didn't care any more, or one of the people who was building on it for their own community.
